Summary

The Directitude team engaged with this project to refresh and revive this classic watering hole, in which the team engaged as a builder for the fit out.  As this beloved local spot has been pouring beers since the 60’s on Brighton’s bustling Church Street, the venue was due for a stylish yet classic upgrade. In which the DM fit out ensured for the preservation of tradition while creating an exciting chapter for generations to come. 


What We Did

  • Demolition work to first level and ground floor, including removal of flooring finishes, ceiling finishes, tiles, lighting and fixed furniture, removal of steel portal and cladding and removal of existing main bar. 
  • Disconnection and relocation of hydraulic services, and adjustments and modifications to mechanical services 
  • Reinstallation of retained bar. Updated flooring and repairs to stairs and balustrade. New plaster to ceilings and painting on level 1 as well as powder coating throughout. New tiles to the bar and entrance to the courtyard, new carpet, and herringbone floorboards throughout. New equipment, fixtures, and furniture throughout. Supply and installation of custom joinery pieces, including new bar to the level 1 function space, new storage cupboards and joinery modifications to the existing retained bar.
